Over 70 children at the Aldea Infantil work their land and have established a successful strawberry industry, have a growing guinea pig production and are planning to create a dairy, having just gotten their first donated cow.
El Bichito (Little Bug)
El Bichito is currently a Drop-in Center serving 81 children. Southern Cross has partnered with Graciella and is raising funds and working on permits to complete the second and third story to provide more long term care of the homeless and street children and to become an orphanage.
Alegria de Vivir
This home focuses on street children, and children from single parent families, with special needs, many with very debilitating handicaps. These children do not have access to medical care, or professional specialized treatments. Alegria de Vivir works to bring these services to them.
Little Girl's Home
All the girls in this home have been abused and/or abandoned and are in the care of hard working and caring nuns. The goal of this home is to provide a safe shelter while volunteers work with parents of the abused girls to change the dynamics in the home and/or find a permanent placement with relatives for those who are orphaned or abandoned.
